With Narbulut Backup Now, you can create various backup policies specific to user groups and manage backups of all your devices.

Creating Policy #

With Narbulut Backup Now policy, you can limit the file sizes to be backed up and define a black/white list according to file extensions. You can enter the directory path to be backed up remotely and set the running hours for the agent. You can define an access password to the agent and adjust bandwidth settings.

Limiting Files to be Backed up #

1. Go to login.narbulut.com on your computer or mobile device.
2. Click on user profile in the top right and switch to Admin account.
3. Click on icon at the top left. In the menu that opens, click on Backup Now and then Policies.
4. Click on the Add button.
5. Select “Max File Size” to determine a size limit for a single file to backed up. (Max 20GB).
6. Select the file extensions you want to be backed up from the “Extension List” by selecting “Permitted File Extensions” from the option “Extension Limitation” and save the policy.
7. Assign the policy to the user groups you want to apply to.

***Note: Select “Extension Limitation” as “Blocked File Extensions” for file extensions that you do not want to be backed up.

Backing up Folder Remotely #

1. Go to login.narbulut.com on your computer or mobile device.
2. Click on user profile in the top right and switch to Admin account.
3. Click on icon at the top left. In the menu that opens, click on Backup Now and then Policies.
4. Click on the Add button.
5. Enter the folder’s path you want to back up in the directory path. Press enter each time for multiple paths.
6. Assign the policy to the user groups you want to apply to.

Defining a Password for Backup Now Agent #

1. Go to login.narbulut.com on your computer or mobile device.
2. Click on user profile in the top right and switch to Admin account.
3. Click on icon at the top left. In the menu that opens, click on Backup Now and then Policies.
4. Click on the Add button.
5. Activate the “Password Protected” option and enter a complex password.
6. Assign the policy to the user groups you want to apply to.

Backup Now Agent Run Settings #

1. Go to login.narbulut.com on your computer or mobile device.
2. Click on user profile in the top right and switch to Admin account.
3. Click on icon at the top left. In the menu that opens, click on Backup Now and then Policies.
4. Click on Add button.
5. In order for the user to stop the agent; mark up the “User Can Pause Agent Permanently” option.
6. To run the agent hidden in the background; mark up the “Run in Background” option.
7. Assign the policy to the user groups you want to apply to.

Setting a Backup Timer #

1. Go to login.narbulut.com on your computer or mobile device.
2. Click on user profile in the top right and switch to Admin account.
3. Click on icon at the top left. In the menu that opens, click on Backup Now and then Policies.
4. Click on the Add button.
5. Mark up the “Run Timer” option.
6. Click on the “Add Agent Runtime Range” button. Select a time interval.
7. Assign the policy to the user groups you want to apply to.

***Note: If you do not want the agent to run at the time range you define, select the “Stop Timer” option.

Backup Bandwidth Settings #

1. Go to login.narbulut.com on your computer or mobile device.
2. Click on user profile in the top right and switch to Admin account.
3. Click on icon at the top left. In the menu that opens, click on Backup Now and then Policies.
4. Click on the Add button.
5. Click on the “Agent Bandwidth Settings” option.
6. Click on “Add new setting”. Define time range to run agent, download and upload speed.
7. Assign the policy to the user groups you want to apply to.

***Note: The default upload and download speed will be applied, outside the time interval you define.
